Joseph Biden has been sworn in as the 46th president of the United States, promising to health the country with a spirit of national unity.

After taking the oath of office, Joe Biden said that the Inauguration Day was a celebration of democracy and that the “the will of the people has been heard.”

 “This is America’s day. This is democracies day. The day of history and hope. Of renewal and resolve,” Biden said. “Democracy is precious. Democracy is fragile. At this hour, my friends, democracy has prevailed.”

Biden also vowed to “confront domestic terrorism,” and channeled former President Abraham Lincoln in his pledge to help “bring America together and united our nation.”

Biden pledges to be a President for all Americans

Joe Biden pledged to be a “president for all Americans,” including those who did not support his campaign at his inauguration address. “I will fight as hard for those who did not support me as for those who did,” he said.

“My whole soul was in it today. On this January day, my whole soul is in this: Bringing America together, uniting our people, uniting our nation. And I ask every American to join me in this cause” he insisted.
